About Me
My name is Shelbie and I am a self-employed Webmaster. I would like to take a moment to tell you about myself and provide you with an understanding of who I am and how I came about starting my business.
I was born and raised in Delmont, Pennsylvania. I graduated high school in 1993 and decided that I did not want to pursue college immediately after school. I was working at McDonald's full-time and knew I needed to have a path to follow, as I was not ready for more schooling. Instead, I joined the United States Marine Corps. I served my country proudly for four years. During that time, I earned the title Marine at Parris Island, South Carolina, followed by schooling at Camp Johnson, North Carolina, a year in Okinawa, Japan, followed by the last 2 1/2 years at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. My military occupational specialty (MOS) was Supply Administration (3043). I cherished my time as an active duty Marine and will forever be a Marine. Along with the experience I gained as a Marine, I also became a wife, mother, and college graduate.
I received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in 1998, at the same time completing my Associates degree. Since that time, I have been a loyal and supportive Marine Corps spouse who has volunteered with the Key Volunteer Network in various units that my husband has been a part. This experience has allowed me to assist spouses and family members of Marines in finding the appropriate resources to assist in a variety of situations while also giving back to the Corps as a way to thank those who serve today. I have held various employment positions including stock clerk, administrative assistant positions, legal assistant and being self-employed as a webmaster for 6 years. In 2007, I completed a bachelor's degree in business administration with a 3.92 GPA and in 2009; I completed a master's degree in business administration with a 4.00 GPA.
My educational background:
- Master of Business Administration, University of Phoenix, 2009
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, University of Phoenix, 2007
- Associate of Arts, Campbell University, 1998

- Introduction to Java Script
- HTML 2
- HTML Special Topic: Forms

I plan to continue pursuing further courses for web design, programming, and graphic design to stay current with the changes in technology as well continue moving forward being a self-employed webmaster. I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and always look to improve who I am and further what I believe my potential to be.
